1Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026

The third edition, titled In Interludes and Transitions, directed by Nora Razian and Sabih Ahmed. It opened on 30 January 2026 at the JAX District, and entry was free. The announcement gave 23 April as the end and the organisers' calendar showed 2 May. Either way it has closed.

Why go

It is shown so that you know what the biennale was: a large contemporary art event in Diriyah's JAX District, in the same place as the earlier Diriyah visit. We have found no date for a fourth edition; follow the biennale's own channels for that.

2Black Gold Museum

Art about oil and energy: more than 350 works by over 170 artists from more than 30 countries, in a Zaha Hadid-designed building inside the KAPSARC complex in northern Riyadh. House of Saud says it opened in April 2026.

Why go

Go if oil interests you as an idea rather than an industry. The works treat energy through art, which pairs with Ithra's Energy Exhibit on the other side of the country.

Time to plan
1 to 2 hours (per House of Saud)
Tickets
House of Saud lists free admission, with visits reserved through the Discover Culture website.
Getting there
Inside the KAPSARC complex in northern Riyadh. Reserve first, then use the Directions button.

3Diriyah Art Futures

A media arts hub with rotating exhibitions, digital labs and residencies (House of Saud).

Why go

Because the programme rotates, it is the place for new media work rather than for a fixed collection. Go if you want something that changes, and check what is on first.

Gulf News lists the Ana Arabia exhibition among the venues of Riyadh Season 2026, which opened on 21 October and runs for ten weeks. We have not confirmed its dates or whether there is an entry fee.

Why go

It is included because it is happening during the season. Treat it as a lead to check, not as a plan.
